Our Staff:


Talia Levanon - Director


Talya Levanon was born in Switzerland and raised in Nigeria. Talia has an MSW in clinical social work from Bar Ilan University together with degrees in Integrative psychotherapy and a BSW in Social Work from Hebrew University. During the Yom Kippur War in 1973, Talia served as an officer in the Israeli army, working with bereaved families and wounded soldiers. Talia is a supervisor for social workers. She has worked in private practice as well as in a Unit in the Jerusalem Branch of the Israeli National Insurance Institute for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Trauma Widows and Widowers. Currently, Talia Levanon is the Director of the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC) established in 2001. A collaborative network of over forty organizations committed to a proactive role in policy making and the provision of a systematic continuum of trauma related care and preparedness. As Director of the ITC, Talia is working towards building collaborative partnerships that ensure the provision of lasting care and healing to trauma victims in both Israel and abroad. Talia is fluent in English, French, and Hebrew.

Omer Egozi - Director of Resource Development


Born in Israel, Omer has lived and worked in Rome, Paris and London. He has a B.A and an M.A in Islam and Middle East Studies from the Hebrew University. Omer joined the ITC in 2009 after nearly seven years at the Global Forum foundation. In his last position as Director General of Global Forum Italy he developed new models for development and peace building for post conflict countries in the Third World. Mr. Egozi served under Mr. Shimon Peres, Ms. Zipi Livni and Mr. Roni Milo as a senior projects coordinator in the Ministry for Regional Cooperation. As Director of Fundraising and Development Omer brings his international experience, excellent communication and organizational skills to the non-profit sector, He is responsible for the development and execution of a long-term strategic plan to ensure ongoing financial support for the ITC and raising public awareness of the work of the ITC. Omer speaks Hebrew, English and Italian. He is married with 2 children.


Debra Slonim - International Relations


Born in the United Kingdom and raised "Down Under", Debra has a B.A and L.L.B. Debra worked for several years as a lawyer in both public and private practice before finding her true calling in the non-profit sector. She has worked closely with many leading non-profit organizations including the Jerusalem Foundation, JDC, and Variety as well as establishing her own grant-writing service. She is on the board of multiple non-profit organizations, including J.E.L.L.Y which promotes literacy and is active in the field of formal and informal education. Currently, Debra is the International Relations Officer at the ITC and is responsible for proposals, reporting to internal and external organizations/agencies, development of marketing materials and is part of the ITC strategic development team. Debra is married and the mother of three, living in Jerusalem.


Roni Lior - Project Coordinator Sderot and Gaza Region


Born in Haifa and raised in Jerusalem, Roni holds a BA in Education and Political Science from Hebrew University, Jerusalem and is currently completing an MA in Public Policy (specializing in Education Policy) at the Hebrew University. During her studies, Roni participated in research projects at the School of Education in the field of multi-cultural education and Israeli history of education. Roni worked with various Federations and the United Jewish Communities, assisting Missions. In her military service, Roni served as an editor of the army newspaper, 'Bamachan'e". Roni is responsible for the establishment and professional oversight of ITC Training Centers and projects in the following areas: Children, Arab Society, Psycho-social therapists, Health caregivers and Spiritual Leaders. Her responsibilities include mapping of needs and resources in the field, identifying potential new partnerships and the development, implementation and evaluation of collaborative programs. Roni is married and a mother of two.


Ohad Aviram - Director of Regional Training Centers


Lt. Col Ohad Aviram is the Israel Trauma Coalition Director of Regional Training Centers. Born and raised in Jerusalem, Ohad served in the IDF as a paratrooper commander during the First Lebanon War. Ohad holds a first and second degree in psychology from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, specializing in social and organizational psychology. Upon completing his degrees he returned to the army as a military psychologist working in various field units. Before retiring from the army he held the position of Head of Organizational Development in the Planning Department of the General Staff and Head of the Behavioral Sciences Division for Home Front Command. Ohad held these positions during the Gaza Disengagement, the Second Lebanon War and Operation Cast Lead. Following his retirement from the IDF, Ohad was a Fellow at the Mandel Institute for Educational Leadership where he specialized in development of selection models and practices for school principals. Ohad is married and has four children. In his spare time he loves to run, to date he has completed four marathons and counting.


Aviva Zini - Project Coordinator of Regional Training Center


Born and raised in Jerusalem, Aviva Zinni joined the Israeli Trauma Coalition in July 2010 as the coordinator of the regional training program. In her former position from 1995 – 2009, Aviva was the employment project coordinator for the ultra orthodox sector in JDC-Israel, responsible for operations, training and monitoring of implementing agencies, financial oversight, and developing partnerships. Aviva holds a degree in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management from the Open University. She is married, a mother of two and lives in Givat Zeev, Jerusalem.

Yonatan Shoshan


Born in Israel, Yonatan has a B.A in Physics and Philosophy from the Hebrew University, and M.A with Honors in Public Policy from Tel Aviv University. Yonatan joined ITC in 2015 after he established Ushpizin (NPO), with the goal to match diaspora Jewish families who own vacant apartments in Israel with students who are in need of affordable rentals during their studies, prior to which he was the manager of the student Olim absorption department of the Jewish Agency. Yonatan has experience in development, administration and financial management of a variety of projects. At the ITC, he is responsible for the five resilience centers in the south and for international programs. Yonatan speaks Hebrew and English. He is married with four-year-old twins.

Our Mission

The mission of the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC) is to create a continuum of care in the trauma field, response and preparedness, by leveraging diverse resources to initiate, prioritize, and optimize services.

In the past 13 years  the ITC has proven its effectiveness in partnering with over 60 organizations including government ministries and Home Front Command to ensure a comprehensive view of the trauma field, timely delivery of needed services, resilience building at a personal, community and national level and influencing policy.
